No, you cannot have an iron or steamer in your cabin. If you have it in your carry-on luggage, it should be taken. 

The biggest threat at sea is fire.  So crew will do whatever is needed to protect all passengers.

Most cruise lines have a laundry room with an iron available.  Ask your room attendant for help finding it. 

Formal night tends to be the busiest time for the iron, so plan accordingly.
